I'll also add the Billings Bridge YIG to my list of places to check if the local one doesn't come through.

- RG>RealGrouchyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09531673943200546692noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7224954.post-81452653956297880052010-01-01T00:49:49.121-05:002010-01-01T00:49:49.121-05:00I love that kind of cutlery. (The last time I bought them at the YIG at Billings Bridge, in the section where the disposable plates and cups are.)Louisehttp://lifebeginsat41.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7224954.post-76574189802757530452009-12-27T21:38:45.229-05:002009-12-27T21:38:45.229-05:00Gwen - Glad to hear you'll be back in town soo...Gwen - Glad to hear you'll be back in town soon.

Actually, it's closer to 40 lbs in the panniers. The reasons for plastic are: (1) want to buy in bulk because I'll be giving them away, and (2) if it's on the lanyard during an aggressive falling or hugging incident, the cutlery will break and not the sternum.

This is one of those "I'll get it if I see this exact one, otherwise I'll live without it" type of desires.

- RG>RealGrouchyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09531673943200546692noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7224954.post-73702063774398408422009-12-26T02:29:21.745-05:002009-12-26T02:29:21.745-05:00You carry 20lbs of panniers around with you everyw...You carry 20lbs of panniers around with you everywhere "just in case." Why not just carry metal cutlery? I have been carrying a fork, spoon and/or knife with me on and off for about 10 years now. I hate plastic cutlery.

In other news I'm back in town on the 1st. The closest I could find online was still smaller, and probably flimsier (despite being 'sturdy'). That's why I'm on the prowl: I want this set of cutlery--no impostors.

- RG>RealGrouchyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09531673943200546692noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7224954.post-4731036803407771202009-12-21T07:54:04.510-05:002009-12-21T07:54:04.510-05:00I'm pretty sure you can buy sturdy plastic cut...I'm pretty sure you can buy sturdy plastic cutlery wherever you can buy sturdy Chinette plates and other picnic supplies (i.e.: most grocery stores). I once found sturdy plastic cutlery that was silver so it actually looked like real cutlery at a dollar store.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7224954.post-88083095995346084832009-12-18T11:51:29.063-05:002009-12-18T11:51:29.063-05:00Did you check Tannis Trading (although they may no...Did you check Tannis Trading (although they may not sell to non-restauranteurs)Chris Bnoreply@blogger.com
